The Gamecock Student-Athlete Promise Fund was created in 2014 and has showcased the depth and breadth of the commitments the South Carolina Athletics Department has made to the development of the student-athletes who wear the garnet and black.
This year's focus is The Carolina Degree Completion Program (CDC). The Carolina Degree Completion Program, which is part of the Gamecock Student-Athlete Promise, is for student-athletes who left the university in good academic standing to pursue a professional career or did not complete their degree due to personal circumstances. The program allows those former student-athletes to apply to be readmitted to come back to campus and finish their degree while eligible to receive funding for room, board, books, and tuition. They also have access to all of the resources offered to current student-athletes, such as tutors, laptops, and use of the Dodie Academic Enrichment Center. Funds for this initiative and your donation will help make a lasting impact on our next generation of leaders.
"Intercollegiate athletics prepares our student-athletes for life after graduation," said Athletics Director Ray Tanner. "We are committed to supporting them during their time at South Carolina. The Gamecock Student-Athlete Promise Fund details the variety of commitments and services we provide to assist them in meeting all of their goals while at Carolina".
