Veterans, military students, and their families account for approximately 12% of USC Aiken students.
The university's Office of Veteran and Military Student Success serves as a central resource for veteran and military students looking to further their education. The office provides financial scholarships and support with the GI Bill, as well as facilitates connection with the university's academic and student activities divisions.
The university was also recognized in 2023 as a top 10 school for veterans by Military Friendly.
Military Times Best for Vets Colleges is the largest and most comprehensive annual ranking of schools for military service members and veterans. Each year, a survey is sent to colleges and universities asking about their programs for veterans. The survey results are then analyzed, along with public data obtained from the Department of Education and the Department of Veterans Affairs. Schools were then asked to complete a survey and responses were then analyzed by the Military Times data team.
The ranking comes as USC Aiken's Veteran and Military Student Success kicks off its Empowering Healthy Veterans Campaign, which focuses on success for military veterans and the health of the community.
