No matter where you are right now, please know that our heartfelt concern is for every member of our UofSC community and for the future of our beloved university. Many of you have reached out, in the spirit of our Carolinian Creed, to ask how you can help at this time. Thank you for your compassion and for engaging with us as we all seek solutions.
You may already know that the university has extended remote instruction for students and remote work for faculty and staff through the end of the semester. In addition, all campus events are canceled or postponed for this time period, including our annual university-wide giving day, Give 4 Garnet. In this changing and challenging landscape, there is an unprecedented need and opportunity for us to come together collectively to support our Gamecock community.
To provide vital assistance, we have established the UofSC COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund through the UofSC Educational Foundation. Through this fund, we can respond to current and emerging needs related to the impact of the coronavirus at our university. Our aim is to help students who are facing financial hardship and other burdens due to unexpected challenges created by COVID-19.
Even as we hold true to the University of South Carolina’s commitment to excellence in every aspect of our mission as the state’s flagship university, we recognize that each of us is managing unanticipated circumstances day by day. We are thankful to be part of this supportive Gamecock family, upholding each other in these times so we can emerge strong and ready for brighter days.
Thank you for considering a gift to the UofSC COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund. You are a valued and essential partner in the life and future of the University of South Carolina, and we are grateful for you.
