Music has a lasting impact on so many of our memories, including our time at the University of South Carolina. It has the power to inspire joy, acceptance and understanding among people of all backgrounds, ages and beliefs. At the School of Music, we invest in the success of each student as we prepare music leaders, music educators and diversely skilled musicians.
The School of Music offers all students a wide range of opportunities to grow and excel as musicians. One such opportunity is the Choral Studies program. Here, students who are majors and non-majors can participate in the Concert Choir, University Chorus, Carolina Alive and other choral ensembles, learning a variety of repertoire and performing in venues all over the world. Students share their individual voices to create one unified sound and spread joy to the UofSC community and the community at large.
At the end of this academic year, long time director of choral studies, Dr. Larry Wyatt, will retire. Those of you who sang in either Concert Choir or University Chorus know firsthand what a difference the Choral Studies program makes in students’ lives. We hope you will consider making a gift today in honor of Dr. Wyatt and his teaching legacy at the School of Music.
