Nursing Student Scholarships
Each student at the College of Nursing looks forward to a bright future as an impactful and passionate nurse. Unfortunately, for many committed students, financial barriers present challenges that prevent them from reaching their full potential. As an advocate for the College of Nursing, you can provide much-needed support for these students. Your contribution will have an immediate and direct impact on students like Daisy Noyola and hundreds of others.
Daisy Noyola is a BSN junior from Cassatt, South Carolina, who has always had a passion for science. In high school, Daisy took a biomedical science course at her local vocational school, where her teacher was a nurse. “I learned a lot from my teacher there, and she was one of the main people who encouraged me to pursue nursing, since she received her BSN at the University of South Carolina,” Daisy says.
As a first-generation student, Daisy has experienced many exciting firsts during her college career. She also shoulders the responsibility for financing her college degree. Thanks to her student scholarships from the College of Nursing, Daisy can confidently focus on her dream of becoming a nurse without worrying about her finances. “I used my scholarships to pay for items including textbooks, access cards, and other school supplies in general. It has helped me in terms of stress, because I don’t have to worry about finding the money to pay for those items on top of transitioning into my first real semester as an upper division student,” Daisy says.
