University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia
40 Years 4 South Carolina
In the 40 years since the first class of Doctor of Medicine students graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia, our school has produced nearly 4,500 health professionals and scientists. More than half of those alumni have stayed in South Carolina. Additionally, our school is ranked number one in the nation for the percent of graduates practicing in medically underserved areas. We are making a major impact on our state and nation, and with your help we can do even more!
During Give 4 Garnet, we are asking our entire community – students, staff, faculty, alumni, patients and friends – to come together and support the School of Medicine Columbia’s Carolina Fund by giving $4 or $40 in honor of the four decades, or 40 years, our school’s alumni have been caring for the people of South Carolina and beyond.
Our state's population is getting older, and the need for quality health professionals has never been greater. Growing the pipeline of tomorrow’s health care workforce is vitally important. It takes everyone pitching in to help us provide students with the very best educational experience. That’s why we need your support during Give 4 Garnet.
- Give 4 our students: Your support helps us provide instructional materials, such as test preparation software and books, support for student organizations, and optimal learning spaces for our students, like the Student Success Center.
- Give 4 our faculty: Your gifts help equip our classrooms with the best technologies, ensuring faculty have the tools they need to prepare students for the ever-evolving health care landscape.
- Give 4 our school: Your gifts keep the school moving forward by supporting the most critical needs of the day.
- Give 4 South Carolina: Your gifts will help us achieve a healthier South Carolina for today, tomorrow and beyond!
