Nursing Building Expansion

Be a part of University of South Carolina College of Nursing history!

We proudly broke ground on our 52,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility, located on the Lexington Medical Center hospital main campus, in February 2023. Funds raised from Give4Garnet will directly support the outfitting (medical equipment, furniture, etc.) in the building. The college plans to welcome the first cohort of students in Fall 2024.

We have bold plans beyond the physical infrastructure to transform the way we educate and prepare our future nursing workforce, as well as how we care for and promote the health and well-being for the communities we serve.

Why it matters

In three to five years after transitioning to the new campus, USC will be able to graduate 400 pre licensure nurses per year in the Midlands, which is an 80% annual increase. The new building will be used primarily for clinical training of nursing students in the bachelor of science program during their third and fourth year, as well as master's program students.
