We want all students in the College of Information and Communications to study abroad!
Why?
Because the students who have participated in our study abroad programs consistently rate them as one of the best parts of their experience studying in the College of Information and Communications. Whether they go to Spain, Germany or Malawi, students learn to understand other cultures and customs. This strengthens their communications skills because they have a better understanding about how perspectives can vary based on a person's background. They also learn to be more self reliant and adaptable in unfamiliar circumstances.
Additionally, the students who participate in CIC study abroad programs form strong and enduring bonds with each other that they bring back to campus.
This fund supports our "as-low-cost-as-we-can-make-them" study abroad programs. Despite having no program fee, our study abroad programs are still not affordable for every student. You can help change that! By supporting the CIC in this year's Give 4 Garnet campaign, you are contributing to scholarships that will provide greater access to study abroad for all students in the college.
