Veterans and Military Affairs

At the University of South Carolina, we salute those who have served, are currently serving, and who may serve this great Nation. We honor the sacrifice and selflessness that military service requires, and we are dedicated to assisting our veteran and military community on campus and beyond every single day. They earned our support!

In 2022 alone, we welcomed senior leadership from the Army and Pentagon to speak and engage with students; local veterans and community leaders to speak during the Student Veteran Association’s inaugural Leadership Luncheon; hosted our first military appreciation tailgate during the Salute to Troops football game; and hosted corporate partners and local military leadership at Williams-Brice Stadium for two nationally and internationally viewed discussions on employment networking and workforce development. By supporting the Military Plan Operations fund, your contribution will further enhance our ability to engage throughout the state and country, through programmatic initiatives, build relationships and opportunities in military, industry, and government to spur economic growth and workforce development among the veteran and military community.

In January, the Department of Veterans and Military Affairs aligned with the university's Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs to further unite military affiliated programs under a central umbrella. USC is one of only 49 institutions in the country to have Army, Navy, and Air Force programs, preparing Cadets and Midshipmen to be both leaders and life-long learners. All three programs have received national recognition and rankings for their commitment for educating future officers in the Armed Forces. By donating to the various support funds, you will help provide support for the various needs associated with students and cadre within the programs so that they can continue to compete with ROTC programs nationally. Needs include but are not limited to supplies and equipment, transportation, events, recruiting initiatives, and room and board for scholarship students. Educational funds supplement the needs and daily functions of the units and enhance the student's overall experience. They are allocated at the discretion of the units commanding officer.

We can't do any of this vital work without donors like you. Please make your Give 4 Garnet gift to support those who serve – no gift is too small to touch the life of a military-affiliated student.
