University of South Carolina Press is proud to announce that it is serving the reading needs of diverse USC and Columbia communities with the creation of its own bookshop. Located on the fifth floor of our home building, 1600 Hampton Street, Books on Fifth makes available the titles most desired by USC staff and faculty as well as members of the broader community in our home city. As we move ahead with this project, our needs include shelving, signage, advertising, custom bags and bookmarks, and digital sales equipment. Your contribution on Give 4 Garnet will help us start up Books on Fifth, and we welcome all members of the USC community to visit us on the fifth floor of 1600 Hampton Street.
For more than 75 years, the University of South Carolina Press has published books that tell compelling stories, present innovative scholarship and inspire conversations. Many of the more specialized books cost more to publish than their sales will support. With more than 1,300 books available in print and digital formats, and publishing approximately 40 new books annually, USC Press advances the mission and visibility of the university while serving the state of South Carolina.
Your support of the creation of Books on Fifth ensures that USC Press can readily share its books—which help us understand our history and navigate our future—with our university colleagues and community neighbors.
